About Us

In 1989 Shelley and Debbie started the school Rhythmic Dance Centre. They aimed to bring dance to the suburbs.

We aim to bring dance lessons in a friendly, professional way that everyone can afford. Lessons are held at Brighton, Claremont, Huonville, Midway Point, Bellerive and Triabunna.

Classes are held once a week and students work towards performing in our end of year concert and mid-year challenge.

All students receive a trophy in the December concert!

Costs are kept to a minimum with costumes being supplied at a small hire charge. Our amazing costumes are made by Kerry Wilks who donates all her time to making our students look fantastic on stage.

Rhythmic Dance Centre classes promote the confidence and involvement of each student. The happy and creative environment helps students learn and grow.

Everyone gets the chance to shine and be a star at Rhythmic Dance Centre.

Join our growing family!

RDC has improved my daughters confidence no end. She feels comfortable and supported. RDC is affordable and the teacgers go out of their way to make the times suit everyone. My daughter has been provided with encouragement, support and has the ability to participate in competition without the stress and pressure.

RDC is not only a place of dance, it’s a place of friendships. Not only do you get to dance at competitions and concerts but you get a chance to meet new people and make positive relationships with the people around you. I personally have made many new friendships while at dance. RDC is a place of support, love and a massive passion to dance.

Halle has only been at Rhythmic 6 months but absolutely loves it. Shelley & Debbie are very caring and supportive and are always their helping us out when we need it we just love it.
- Bel Jenkins, Brighton

Our daughter did gymnastics for a while but it became too expensive and repetitive. Since we started with RDC last year our daughters fitness levels, her motivational levels are so high that we think she dances in her sleep. Shelley, Debbie and the whole family are a very friendly down to earth bunch. The classes are so affordable and the encouragement our daughter receives is so so positive. We love it

RDC not just a place to dance and have fun, it is a huge family!!! All the teachers, parents, students and wider community are so welcoming and excepting to those in all walks of life.
Thank you RDC for making my girls dreams to come true!! After dancing with Shelley, for the past 6+ years. She now wants to become a dance teacher just like her idol.
- Amanda Ritcher, Huonville

RDC is a dance school like no other. The moment you walk through the door there is such a powerful positive energy running through the walls, through the teachers and into their students. Rhythmic is a family orientated, affordable school that offers a range of classes from babies to adults, from the recreational dancer who dances for fun, friends and fitness right up to the more serious dancers who wish to compete in competitions and want to work towards a professional career in the arts. I absolutely love being an RDC dancer, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
- Lauren Jordan, Claremont

- Kate Wheeler, Claremont

"I started dancing at RDC in 2000, one of the things i like most is that everyone has a happy attitude which has over the years lead to me making both memories and friends that I will keep for a lifetime."
